What Began in a Living Room Became a Village
The Village Foundation began in founder Hannah’s home through weekly community gatherings and parenting workshops for mothers and their children. From the beginning, the vision was simple: create a space where mothers would never have to choose between nurturing themselves and nurturing their children. The community was intentionally designed to support both at the same time.
As the gatherings continued to grow, something meaningful began to form. Mothers from different backgrounds and stages of life came together with their children and found genuine connection, encouragement, and belonging.
While surveying mothers about the challenges of parenting, one answer stood out above the rest. More than sleep deprivation, tantrums, lack of time, or the daily demands of motherhood, 76% of mothers reported that the hardest part of parenting was isolation. And over time, it became clear that the solution to isolation was not simply being around more people — it was experiencing real belonging within a supportive community.
That sense of belonging became the heart of The Village Foundation.
As the community outgrew the home where it began, the organization was formed to create space for even more areas of family support. Today, The Village Foundation works to provide scholarships and programs that offer parenting support, postpartum caregiving, enriching opportunities for parents and children, and Reading Quest — a literacy program designed to guide children from early reading skills to confident independent reading while helping them discover a love for books.
Together, our community is working to build the kind of village every family deserves — a place of support, encouragement, connection, and opportunity for families in every season of life, regardless of financial circumstances.
